Peter and Judas: The Pitfalls and Possibilities of Making Disciples
A Workshop by Laura Holmes (Professor of New Testament, Wesley Theological Seminary)
About this Workshop
Peter and Judas are often understood to be the polar opposites of discipleship: Peter temporarily fails but ultimately succeeds, while Judas just fails. Yet, the details of their stories show that these disciples have a lot more to say than this. Considering Jesus’s foremost denier and betrayer together, we can better see the pitfalls, but also the possibilities and joys inherent in making disciples.
